1. Neelkanth Mahadev Temple:

The temple lies at a distance of 12kms form Rishikesh. Neelkanth Mahadev is one of the most revered temple of Shiva. According to mythology Shiva  consumed  poison here that emerged from samudra manthan. In close proximity lies Swarg Ashram.

2. The Beatles Ashram:

The ashram reopened in December,2015. Rishikesh got its moment in the world stage when the famous band visited Rishikesh in order to practice transcendental meditation. Beatles in their time wrote various songs one which is titled Rishikesh. Many people since then has followed the path of the world’s greatest rock band. There are many restaurants in Rishikesh which have the same name.

3. Byasi:

Next among the places to visit in Rishikesh is Byasi. There exist number of sandy beaches and rafting camps surrounded by the forest, natural beauty and wildlife. In Byasi you will find the flow of the Ganga much constant which is ideal for rafting. The small hamlet has over time emerged as a popular adventure destination.

4. Kaudiyala:

Kaudiyala is located on the Rishikesh – Badrinath road. It is the rafters paradise. It is the starting point of the river tour and has its own campsite. This is a point from which a 3 day rafting tour starts of 40kms to Rishikesh that goes through Shivpuri and Brahmpuri. Kaudiyala to Rishikesh has 5-6 rapids of Grade HI and Grade V. It has tented accommodation and along the Ganges.

5. Ganga Aarti:

The holy river Ganga is worshipped at various ghats of the Rishikesh. The most famous places of Ganga aarti are Parmarth Niketan and Triveni Ghat. People from across the world come to be the part of Ganga aarti at Parmarth Niketan during 6pm to 7pm. The river Ganga looks so beautiful when it during dark you see thousands or lakhs of diva floating in the river.

While the Triveni Ghat is famous for its Maha Aarti where the atmosphere looks so pure after the beginning of the aarti. The sound of bhajan, bells, diyas floating in the river make the scenario more beautiful.

6. Jumpin Heights:

Another places to visit in Rishikesh is Jumpin Heights. It is one of the most adventurous place in Rishikesh near Mohan Chatti. This is one of the most famous people among the adventure and fun enthusiasts. A place is fixed for Bungee at an height of 83km above the river. Bungee is operated by highly experienced people of New Zealand. From Jumpin Height you can take part in different adventurous sports like bungy jumping, zip line and giant swing.

7.   Lakshman Jhula:

Lakshman Jhula has nothing to do with Jhula. While Lakshman Jhula is basically an iron suspension bridge over the Ganga River in Rishikesh. The length of the bridge is about 450 feet which connects Pauri district with Tehri district. While walking on the bridge you will see the beautiful view of the Ganga River and of the entire city Rishikesh.

8. Ram Jhula:

Ram Jhula is another among places to visit in Rishikesh. It is very famous as it is the landmark of the place Rishikesh. It is another iron suspension bridge over the holy river and its length is 40 feet. The bridge connects Shivanand Ashram with Swarg Ashram.

9. Muni Ki Reti:

Muni Ki Reti means “Sands of the Sages” it is a small town near the Ganga River. This place is famous for several temples, ashrams, meditation, yoga centre. It is said that Muni ki Reti is a place where muni (Sages) used to meditated.

10. Rishikund:

Rishikund is a small pond which is located near Raghunath temple. There is story about Rishikund that it was created by Kubz Saint and it is blessed by goddess Yamuna by filling the pond with her pure water. One of the most interesting thing about this pond is that it reflects the image Raghunath temple in it. Tourists visit Rishikund in order to relax in this calm place.

11. Raghunath Temple:

Raghunath Temple is among the most religious places of Rishikesh. People visit Raghunath Temple in order to celebrate religious ceremonies. This temple was created and dedicated to Lord Ram and his wife Sita.

12. Tera Manzil Temple:

Tera Manzil temple is another tourist spot where people visit throughout the year. The temple is having 13 (tera) storey (manzil) hence its is named Tera Manzil. Temple is located on the bank of the river and is also known as Trimbakeshwar temple. Different storey of the temple consists of idols of different god and goddesses.
