Mussoorie is one of the premier hill station in Uttarakhand state of India. Its close proximity to Delhi (National Capital) and Dehradun (State Capital) has made it a celebrated weekend getaway. The Governments have made sure that Mussoorie is well connected with the rest of the country. Mussoorie forms a part of an important travel circuit of North India .Dehradun-Mussoorie-Haridwar-Rishikesh Circuit. It is also the gateway to Tehri Gharwal.

Reach Mussoorie by Railways/Bus/Flights:

By Railways:

The nearest railhead is Dehradun which is at a distance of 30kms (1hr). The railway station is located at the heart of the city.

Trains to Dehradun

The major trains are “Dehradun Satabdi and “Mussorie Express” from Delhi. “Dehrandun express” runs from Mumbai. A private taxi could take as much as Rs 600 for a drop. There are frequent buses (5 A.M- 6 P.M) to Mussoorie which goes via railway station for Rs 52).

By Roadways:

Regular buses leave from Kashmere Gate ISBT to Mussoorie from 6 Am to 10 Pm . Try ( for online reservations and timings of respective buses.

There are several private busses availabe. There are buses available from popular tourist destinations like Nainital, Dharamsala, Shimla and Manali.

Mussoorie is an hour’s drive north of Dehradun along the New Mussoorie Road. The distance between Delhi and Mussoorie is 323kms. Its a 7hr drive from Delhi via Meerut, Roorkee, Chhutmalpur, Mohand and Dehradun

By Air:

The nearest airport is at Dehradun which is about 58km from Mussoorie. After Dehradun was made the capital of the new state Uttarakhand, the number of flights coming in and taking off has increased dramatically. This had made Mussoorie even more popular.

The distance between Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi and Dehradun Airport is approximately 250 kms.
