Durga Devi Zone is probably the most beautiful and serene among all the zones in Corbett National Park. The zone lies in the northeastern part of Ramnagar. Durga Devi zone is located at a distance of 28 km from Ramnagar. The entry gate to Durga Devi is Durga Devi gate itself. The dwindling crossroads provide a rustic look of the forest. You can enjoy safari rides in Durga Devi Zone if you have a registered vehicle.
In Durga Devi can be enjoyed both on the back of an elephant or on a safari jeep. Although it is suggested, the jeep safari is preferred in the morning while you can take the elephant safari in the evening hours .
The safari inside the sanctuary is arranged by at the head office of Jim Corbett National Park at Ramnagar.You can book a slot and check the status online. The next job is to get a gypsy for your safari. These are provided by the various independent spread across the Corbett. They will be more than happy to book your safari for you. They will also arrange for the required permits.
The agents pick you up from your hotel/resort/camp. They will receive you at the time of your safari. The Safari is lead by a driver and a wildlife expert (on requirement) who will give you better insight into the movement of the tiger in the area. You also get to learn about the flora and Fauna in the area if you get a hand on the experience guide. Therefore it is suggested to take a guide with you.
